Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Medical Officer (RMO) for the night shift to provide high-quality medical care to mothers, newborns, infants, and pediatric patients. The RMO will be responsible for managing admitted patients, attending medical emergencies, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring uninterrupted clinical care throughout the night. The ideal candidate should possess sound clinical knowledge, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide continuous medical care to admitted obstetric, gynecological, neonatal, and pediatric patients during the night shift.
- Assess, diagnose, and initiate treatment for patients presenting with medical emergencies.
- Monitor the clinical condition of admitted patients and promptly escalate any deterioration to the concerned consultant.
- Attend emergency cases, including labor room, NICU, PICU, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies.
- Prescribe medications and treatment as per hospital protocols and consultant guidance.
- Perform routine clinical procedures such as IV cannulation, catheterization, suturing, nasogastric tube insertion, and basic airway management.
- Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols during emergencies, as applicable.
Labour Room & OT Support
- Assist Obstetricians and Gynecologists during normal deliveries and emergency obstetric procedures.
- Assist Pediatricians and Neonatologists in neonatal resuscitation and emergency newborn care.
- Coordinate with the Operation Theatre team during emergency surgeries and Caesarean sections.
Patient Monitoring
- Conduct regular night rounds of all inpatient wards.
- Review investigation reports and ensure timely implementation of treatment plans.
- Monitor post-operative and critically ill patients.
- Ensure timely documentation of patient progress and clinical observations.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate admission notes, progress notes, treatment orders, referral notes, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure complete and timely documentation in patient medical records.
- Maintain medico-legal records whenever required.
Coordination
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and support departments.
- Ensure smooth patient handovers between day and night shift teams.
- Communicate important clinical updates to consultants and management whenever necessary.
Patient Safety & Quality
- Adhere to NABH standards, infection control protocols, biomedical waste management guidelines, and patient safety policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Report adverse events, incidents, and clinical complications as per hospital policy.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Verify medication charts and treatment orders.
- Ensure availability of emergency drugs and equipment during the night shift.
- Support hospital quality initiatives and clinical audits.
- Comply with hospital policies, SOPs, and statutory regulations.
Qualifications
- BAMS/ BHMS from a recognized medical college.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council.
Experience
- Freshers with completed internship may apply.
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital is preferred.
- Experience in Pediatrics, Neonatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, or Emergency Medicine will be an added advantage.

Working Hours
- Fixed Night Shift as per hospital schedule.
- Weekly off as per hospital policy.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
