Join Hostcode Lab as an SEO intern and gain hands-on experience in keyword research, search intent analysis, content optimization, WordPress publishing, on-page SEO, internal linking, Google Search Console, and SEO reporting.
This internship is designed for candidates who want to learn practical SEO through structured processes, real assignments, regular feedback, and measurable responsibilities. You will work with the team on ongoing projects and gradually learn how to execute routine SEO tasks independently.
Selected Intern’s Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The selected intern will assist with:
- Conducting keyword research for website pages, blog posts, and client projects.
- Analyzing search intent behind target keywords.
- Researching competitors and reviewing their content strategies.
- Mapping keywords to suitable website pages.
- Preparing structured content briefs for writers.
- Writing and optimizing meta titles and meta descriptions.
- Publishing and formatting content in WordPress.
- Implementing basic on-page SEO recommendations.
- Adding relevant internal links to website content.
- Optimizing images, file names, alt text, and image sizes.
- Monitoring website performance through Google Search Console.
- Checking page indexing status and identifying basic indexing issues.
- Assisting with schema markup implementation.
- Reviewing and improving existing website content.
- Collecting data for weekly and monthly SEO reports.
- Updating content calendars and task schedules.
- Updating project boards and marking task progress accurately.
- Following SEO processes, checklists, and quality-control guidelines.
What We Are Looking For
Candidates should have:
- A basic understanding of SEO
- A basic understanding of keywords and search intent
- Good written English
- The ability to conduct independent research
- Strong attention to detail
- A willingness to learn WordPress
- The ability to follow processes and checklists
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- Reliable communication skills
- The ability to complete assigned tasks on time
- A willingness to receive feedback and improve their work
Good to have:
Knowledge of WordPress, Google Search Console, Rank Math, Yoast SEO, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or similar tools is helpful but not mandatory.
Internship Success Criteria
- Execute weekly SEO tasks.
- Prepare initial keyword research drafts.
- Analyze the search intent behind target keywords.
- Map keywords to relevant website pages.
- Publish and optimize content in WordPress.
- Write suitable meta titles and meta descriptions.
- Add relevant internal links to website content.
- Perform basic image optimization.
- Monitor indexing and website data through Google Search Console.
- Collect and organize data for monthly SEO reports.
- Follow an approved SEO strategy and documented workflow.
- Complete routine SEO tasks with limited supervision.
Who Can Apply:
- Are available for a full-time, in-office internship.
- Can start the internship within the specified joining period.
- Are available for a duration of the next six (6) months.
- Have a genuine interest in SEO, content marketing, and website optimization.
- Have basic knowledge of keywords, search intent, and on-page SEO.
- Have good written English and online research skills.
- Are comfortable working with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- Are willing to learn WordPress, Google Search Console, and SEO tools.
- Can follow instructions, processes, checklists, and deadlines.
- Are open to feedback and can communicate regularly with the team.
Students, freshers, and candidates pursuing or having completed B.Tech, BCA, BBA, MBA, BA, B.Com, or a related course may apply. Previous professional SEO experience is not mandatory.
