Role Overview
The CIB CIO Office plays a pivotal role in ensuring the governance, control and oversight of the CIB IT Operating Model across the global IT organisation.
Operating within the CIO Office the CIB IT Governance Officer:
- Contributes to the management of CIB IT governance frameworks in the context of ITG/ITO frameworks, norms and standards.
- Supports the deployment of the IT governance across the CIB IT Clusters / Regions
- Pilots and supports CIB IT governance committees while also monitoring related KPIs, Metrics and Actions.
- Coordinates IT governance-related activities and initiatives.

- Project Portfolio & Delivery
- Finance
- IT HR
- Sourcing.
The IT Governance Officer position is central to ensuring CIB IT remains in compliance with global IT standards/regulatory expectations, and supports the CIB CIO in delivering secure, effective, and transparent technology services in line with BNP Paribas strategy.
High-level responsibilities
Governance & Oversight
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of CIB IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with enterprise governance structures and regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA, EBA ICT Guidelines, FFIEC)
Pilot/facilitate IT Steering & Service Delivery Committees, and other official CIB IT governance forums, providing accurate reporting and tracking of decisions/actions.
Controls and Audit
Help ensure IT processes at CIB IT, Cluster-level & Territory adhere to internal control requirements and withstand regulatory scrutiny
Support audits, regulatory inspections, and risk assessments.
Reporting & Performance Management
Maintain and review CIO-level dashboards and KPIs for IT performance, risk, and service delivery
Track key IT metrics to support decision-making
Provide structured reporting to senior management, regulators, and internal governance bodies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Collaboration
Act as a bridge between different stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
Support the CIOs in preparing board-level updates, regulatory submissions, and strategic reviews
Engage with global IT entities and service providers to ensure harmonised governance standards across regions.
Propose initiatives and participate into the continuous improvement of the CIB IT governance operating model
Manage ad-hoc projects for CIB CIO office
Work in a collaborative mode with the Global CIO Office team and community
Support new joiners into the team.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: 3+ years in IT governance, risk management, or IT audit within a financial institution or regulated environment.
Knowledge of and ability to manage reporting in relation to:
Project & Portfolio Management
HR topics
Finance & purchasing.
Skills:
Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation capabilities
Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups across business and IT
Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing board/regulatory materials
Organised and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to prioritise competing demands
Experience in project / change management
Clarity Portfolio Management Tool.
