A. OSD Equipment Estimation
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and techno-commercial quotations for OSD process equipment and associated systems.
- Understand customer URS, RFQ, specifications, process requirements, and project scope.
- Develop equipment-wise estimation based on technical specifications, capacity, material of construction, utilities, automation, accessories, and applicable standards.
- Prepare BOQ/BOM and cost sheets for OSD equipment.
- Evaluate material, manufacturing, bought-out components, instrumentation, electrical, automation, testing, and installation costs.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted within the defined timeline.
- Identify cost-impacting technical requirements and highlight commercial risks during estimation.
B. Knowledge of OSD Process Equipment
The candidate should have good technical understanding of pharmaceutical OSD process equipment, including:
- FBD – Fluid Bed Dryer
- RMD – Rapid Mixer/Granulator
- Compression Machine
- Capsule Filling Machine
- Blister Packing Machine
- Strip Packing Machine
- Associated process equipment and material handling systems.
- Understand the basic operating principles, capacities, configurations, major components, and technical specifications of the above equipment.
- Review customer requirements and recommend suitable equipment configurations.
- Understand equipment specifications sufficiently to identify major cost and scope implications.
C. Vendor Development & Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain a database of qualified suppliers for OSD pharmaceutical equipment and components.
- Identify and evaluate new vendors for equipment, components, instrumentation, automation, and other project requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical specifications, budgetary quotations, delivery timelines, and commercial terms.
- Compare vendor quotations and prepare technical/commercial comparison statements.
- Support vendor evaluation based on quality, cost, delivery, technical capability, and service support.
- Develop alternate vendor sources to maintain cost competitiveness and supply reliability.
- Coordinate with Purchase/Procurement for finalization of vendor inputs required for estimation.
D. PLC / HMI / SCADA Knowledge
- Should have working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based automation systems used in pharmaceutical process equipment.
- Understand basic automation architecture and control philosophy.
- Review automation requirements specified by customers/URS.
- Understand requirements related to:
- PLC control systems
- HMI interfaces
- SCADA systems
- Sensors and instrumentation
- Control panels
- Data logging and reporting
- Alarm and interlock systems
- Coordinate with Automation/Instrumentation teams for accurate estimation of automation-related scope and cost.
- Evaluate automation requirements from customer specifications and incorporate appropriate costs into estimates.
E. Technical Proposal & Documentation
- Prepare technical and commercial offers based on customer RFQs and URS.
- Review equipment specifications, drawings, datasheets, and technical documents.
- Prepare equipment-wise scope of supply and technical compliance statements.
- Identify deviations, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications in the quotation.
- Prepare comparative statements for technical and commercial evaluation.
- Ensure all quotations comply with customer requirements and internal estimation guidelines.
F. Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with:
- Sales & Business Development
- Design & Engineering
- Procurement
- Production
- Projects
- Quality Assurance / Quality Control
- Automation & Instrumentation
- Vendors / Suppliers
- Customers / Consultants
Ensure smooth transfer of technical and commercial information from RFQ/Enquiry → Estimation → Quotation → Order Handover.
