Job Summary
The Overseas Education Telemarketer is responsible for outbound calling, qualifying raw leads generated from digital marketing campaigns, events, and website sign-ups, and converting them into confirmed counseling sessions (either walk-ins or virtual meetings). This role requires high energy, exceptional phone etiquette, and a strong drive to hit daily call and booking targets.
Core Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Outbound Calling
High-Volume Calling: Initiate outbound calls daily to prospective students and parents who have inquired about studying abroad.
Initial Pitching: Deliver a compelling brief on the consultancy's services, partnered universities, and destination options (e.g., UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Australia).
Engagement: Capture the prospect's interest by highlighting key benefits like post-study work visas, scholarships, or high-demand career fields.
2. Lead Qualification & Profiling
Basic Screening: Ask strategic questions to assess the student's initial eligibility, including their current academic status, preferred intake year, country of interest, budget constraints, and language proficiency plans (IELTS/PTE).
Database Hygiene: Filter out spam, invalid numbers, or completely unqualified leads to ensure the senior counseling team only receives high-potential clients.
3. Appointment Booking & Conversion
Scheduling: Pitch and lock in appointments for detailed, one-on-one sessions with senior Overseas Education Counsellors.
Follow-Up Management: Send confirmation emails or WhatsApp messages with meeting details and follow up with "no-shows" to reschedule their appointments.
Target Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed daily call volume, talk time, and weekly/monthly appointment-booking quotas.
4. CRM & Data Management
Real-Time Logging: Update lead statuses, notes on student preferences, and next-action steps in the company’s CRM software immediately after each call.
Pipeline Tracking: Keep a clear record of which leads have been contacted, which are warm, and which have successfully transitioned to the next stage of the funnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
Degree: High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any field (Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration is a plus).
Experience: 6 months to 2 years of experience in telecalling, inside sales, or customer service. Experience in the ed-tech, training institute, or study-abroad sector gives candidates a massive advantage. High-energy freshers with great speaking skills are frequently hired.
