What will you do?
- Conduct weekly library sessions for children
- Facilitate read-aloud and story-telling activities
- Organise literary events and workshops each quarter
- Encourage children to borrow books and build reading habits
- Maintain the book collection in good condition
- Catalogue new books and manage the issue–return system
- Keep membership records; follow up on overdue books
- Open/close library on schedule; maintain visitor records
- Organise materials before each session; keep space clean
- Maintain regular communication with parents about their children’s reading habits, overall engagement
- Maintain parent contact records
- Facilitate parent collectives and community participation
- Maintain session notes, field observations, photo/video archive
- Share regular updates with the Library Coordinator
What are we looking for?
- Graduate in any discipline (Library Science or Education preferred)
- 1–2 years working with children in a community or school setting
- Proficiency in Marathi; basic comfort in Hindi and English
- Genuine love for books and reading
- Organised, reliable, comfortable with daily record-keeping
- Warm and patient with children of different ages
- Comfortable with a smartphone for photo/video documentation
- Willing to work Monday to Saturday in a field-based setting
