Role Overview:
As the Procurement Manager – Mechanical, you will be responsible for sourcing,
negotiating, and procuring all mechanical & Electrical components and assemblies
required for EV charging stations and related infrastructure. You will manage vendor
relationships, ensure quality compliance, optimize cost and delivery schedules, and align
procurement with Kazam's growth and innovation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and execute procurement strategies for mechanical & electrical parts,
sheet metal enclosures, heat sinks, Charger Gun, connectors, mounting
structures, wire Harness , MCB, socket etc.
● Source and onboard vendors specializing in sheet metal fabrication, machining,
casting, Plastic Mold and electro-mechanical assembly.
● Collaborate with design and engineering teams to understand product BOMs and
translate them into procurement plans.
● Handle RFQs, price negotiations, commercial terms, and issuance of POs for
mechanical components.
● Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, lead times, and capacity.
● Work with QA/QC to ensure mechanical parts meet technical specifications and
compliance standards.
● Identify opportunities for cost savings and localization of parts without compromising
quality.
● Maintain updated records of vendors, price lists, contracts, and delivery schedules.
● Track material availability and ensure procurement supports timely production and
product rollouts.
● Stay up to date with market trends, new materials, vendors, and regulatory changes in
the EV/mechanical space.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MBA/Supply Chain
certification is a plus).
● 6–10 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on mechanical
components in hardware product companies, electronics enclosures,
manufacturing, or EV infrastructure.
● Knowledge of mechanical design, GD&T, fabrication processes, and BOM structures.
● Experience with sheet metal vendors, machining suppliers, and electro-mechanical
part sourcing.
● Proficiency in ERP tools (e.g., Zoho, SAP, Oracle, Odoo) and MS Office.
● Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. ●
Experience in working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment is a plus.
Nice to Have:
● Prior experience in EV charging, battery pack assembly, solar inverters, or IoT
hardware procurement.
● Knowledge of sustainability standards and green procurement practices. ●
Exposure to global sourcing and import logistics (e.g., from China, Taiwan, etc.).
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
