About the Role
AEDIUM Design is looking for a Senior HVAC Design Engineer with strong experience in design consultancy projects in India. The candidate should be capable of independently handling complete HVAC design across diverse sectors such as commercial buildings, residential projects, offices, healthcare, airports, data centers, and semiconductor facilities.
This role requires deep expertise in both low-side and high-side HVAC systems, along with strong capabilities in design calculations, BOQ preparation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end HVAC design for multiple project types
- Design and optimize:
- Low-side systems – air distribution, ducting, ventilation
- High-side systems – chilled water systems, central plant design
- Perform cooling load calculations and system sizing using standard tools
- Select appropriate HVAC systems (Chillers, VRF, DX, AHU, FCU, etc.)
- Prepare and review detailed BOQs and technical specifications
- Develop and review:
- HVAC layouts and schematics
- Design calculations and reports
- Equipment selection documents
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NBC, IS Codes, and local regulations
- Handle coordination with architects, structural, MEP teams, and clients
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and draftsmen
- Support execution/site teams when required
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in HVAC design (low side & high side systems)
- Hands-on experience in load calculations and plant design
- Proven ability in BOQ preparation and design validation
- Exposure to specialized projects (healthcare, data centers, cleanrooms preferred)
- Good understanding of codes and standards compliance
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently handle projects and client interactions
Software Requirements
- HAP / TRACE / equivalent load calculation software
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Revit MEP / BIM (preferred)
- MS Excel (advanced level)
Educational Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- HVAC-related certifications (preferred)
