Role Description The Assistant Production Manager for Fabrication and Machining is a full-time, on-site role based in Panchkula. This role involves planning and supervising daily fabrication and machining activities, ensuring jobs are executed according to quality standards, timelines, and safety requirements. The assistant production manager coordinates with production staff, maintenance teams, and vendors to allocate resources, manage work schedules, and resolve operational issues. Responsibilities include monitoring machine utilization, tracking work orders, maintaining production records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role also contributes to process optimization, cost control, and on-time delivery, while providing guidance to shop-floor teams and supporting compliance with company policies. Qualifications Experience in supervising fabrication and machining operations, including exposure to workshop practices, production planning, and quality control. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC or conventional machining, fabrication techniques, and basic understanding of industrial safety standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications relevant to fabrication and machining. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple work orders, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines. Effective communication and team leadership skills to coordinate with operators, technicians, suppliers, and management. Proficiency in basic computer applications and, ideally, familiarity with production documentation or ERP systems. Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; prior experience in an industrial machinery or manufacturing environment is an advantage. Commitment to workplace safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in production processes.
