Job Title: Senior Designer – Commercial Kitchen Equipment Manufacturing
Job Summary:
The Senior Designer is responsible for leading the design and development of commercial kitchen equipment and stainless-steel fabrication projects. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing products to meet client specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing feasibility. The Senior Designer collaborates closely with production, sales, and project teams to ensure accurate execution and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Development
Create detailed 2D and 3D designs of commercial kitchen equipment (work tables, sinks, hoods, racks, refrigeration units, counters, etc.).
Develop fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and shop drawings for production.
Ensure designs meet client requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct site measurements when required and prepare layout plans.
Modify and improve existing product designs for cost efficiency and performance.
2. Technical Coordination
Work closely with production supervisors and fabrication teams to ensure design feasibility.
Provide technical guidance during manufacturing and installation.
Coordinate with procurement for material specifications (SS grades, fittings, accessories).
Support project team with BOQs and technical documentation.
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure designs comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
Review prototypes and conduct design validation.
Maintain design documentation and revision control.
4. Leadership & Mentorship
Guide junior designers and drafting staff.
Review and approve drawings before production release.
Contribute to process improvements in design workflows.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
5–10 years of experience in commercial kitchen equipment or stainless-steel fabrication industry.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D design software.
