Job Title: Head of Software Development

Role Overview:
The Head of Software Development & Support is responsible for leading the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support of software systems. This role ensures high-quality product delivery, efficient technical support, and alignment with business objectives while driving innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the software development and support strategy aligned with business goals
- Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing development and support teams
- Establish best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
- Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and performance metrics
2. Software Development Management
- Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions
- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to define requirements
- Drive adoption of modern technologies, tools, and frameworks
3. Support & Maintenance
- Ensure efficient handling of incidents, service requests, and escalations
- Maintain SLAs/SLIs for system uptime, response, and resolution times
- Implement monitoring, logging, and proactive issue resolution systems
- Oversee system upgrades, patches, and performance optimization
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements
- Implement testing strategies (automated/manual) and CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct regular audits, code reviews, and risk assessments
5. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders
- Provide regular reporting on project status, system health, and KPIs
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Encourage innovation and continuous learning within teams
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies

- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Deep understanding of software architecture and system design
- Expertise in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud technologies
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with incident management and IT support frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10–15+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in leadership roles
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
