Clinical Study Image Processing Executive
Imaging & Documentation • Quality Assurance Function
Position Summary
Mascot Spincontrol India (MSI) is a Mumbai-based, dermatology-focused cosmetic Contract Research Organisation conducting HRIPT, SPF, patch test, RIPT and efficacy studies. The Clinical Study Image Processing Executive is responsible for the standardised processing, de-identification, archiving and report-readiness of digital study images captured during clinical and cosmetic efficacy trials. This is a precision, process-driven role at the intersection of imaging craft and regulated clinical documentation — consistency, traceability and confidentiality matter more than artistic interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Image processing: standardised before/after and timepoint study images (baseline, interim, end-of-study) for dermatology and cosmetic efficacy trials, ensuring consistent cropping, framing, orientation, scale and white-balance against defined reference standards.
- Apply colour-management and batch-processing workflows so that paired images remain directly comparable across timepoints and subjects.
- De-identification: De-identify and anonymise subject images in line with informed-consent terms and data-privacy requirements; manage subject / timepoint / protocol-based file naming, versioning and integrity.
- Report readiness: Prepare processed image sets and montages as deliverables for draft reports, claims-support documentation and final study reports, to study timelines.
- Archiving: Maintain the study image archive with structured storage, backups, traceability and audit-readiness; ensure no gaps between captured and processed images.
- Quality control: Perform quality checks at the point of capture, flagging exposure, focus, positioning or lighting issues to the imaging/clinical team for re-capture before subjects leave the facility.
- Coordination: Work exclusively within MSI's approved systems and secure storage; coordinate with the Principal Investigator, Study Directors and QA on image requirements and turnaround.
- SOP adherence: Operate within applicable Standard Operating Procedures and maintain documentation to support an inspection-ready environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in graphic design, photography, visual arts, multimedia or a related field — or equivalent demonstrable hands-on experience.
- 1–4 years of hands-on photo editing / retouching experience, preferably in a high-volume, standardised or production environment.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, including batch processing and an understanding of colour management.
- Exceptional attention to detail, consistency and process discipline; comfort working to fixed standards rather than free creative briefs.
- Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and handle confidential material responsibly.
Desirable (Not Mandatory)
- Prior exposure to clinical research, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, dermatology imaging or medical/scientific imaging.
- Familiarity with scientific imaging systems such as VISIA-CR, Antera 3D, BTBP DeepTag, ColorFace or phototrichography.
- Awareness of data-protection obligations under the DPDP Act, 2023, and of good clinical / laboratory practice principles.
- Understanding of image standardisation for measurement and evidentiary use.
Confidentiality & Compliance
Study images are sensitive personal data of trial subjects and are handled strictly under informed consent and Ethics Committee oversight. The selected candidate will be required to:
- Sign a Non-Disclosure / Confidentiality Agreement and adhere to MSI data-handling and privacy obligations, including those under the DPDP Act, 2023.
- Process all subject images only within MSI-controlled systems — no personal devices, personal cloud storage, messaging apps or external transfer of any kind.
- Never retain, copy, share or reproduce subject images outside authorised study workflows.
