Job Title: Spindle Manager – CNC Spindle Manufacturing & Assembly
Location: Mysore, Karnataka
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Spindle Manager to lead our spindle manufacturing and assembly operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end spindle production, assembly, testing, quality assurance, team management, supplier coordination, and continuous process improvement. This role requires deep expertise in CNC spindle technology, precision assembly, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all spindle assembly, testing, and production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily spindle manufacturing operations to ensure on-time production and dispatch.
- Supervise spindle assembly teams and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Oversee spindle testing, inspection, balancing, runout checks, and performance validation activities.
- Analyze and troubleshoot assembly, performance, and reliability issues to improve spindle quality and productivity.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, and Service departments for smooth execution of operations.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing costs.
- Manage supplier interactions related to spindle components, quality issues, and technical requirements.
- Train, mentor, and develop assembly technicians and supervisors.
- Monitor production KPIs, quality metrics, rejection rates, and productivity targets.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives within the spindle division.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Maintain production records, technical documentation, reports, and MIS.
Technical Expertise Required
- Comprehensive knowledge of CNC spindle assembly, testing, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with:
- BT40 Spindles
- BT50 Spindles
- ISO50 Spindles
- HSK-63 Spindles
- HSK-100 Spindles
- VTL-700 Spindles
- VTL-800 Spindles
- Oil-Lubricated Spindles
- Expertise in spindle bearing assembly, preload setting, alignment, balancing, lubrication systems, and performance testing.
- Strong understanding of spindle troubleshooting, vibration analysis, thermal behavior, and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments, engineering drawings, and assembly standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in CNC spindle assembly, spindle manufacturing, machine tool manufacturing, or precision engineering industries.
- Proven experience in managing spindle production teams and manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and shop-floor management.
