Job Description – Production Supervisor
Department: Production & Operations
Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field
Experience: 2–5 years in production, assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, or operations supervision
Key Responsibilities
- Production and Assembly Supervision
Plan and supervise daily production and assembly activities, allocate work to technicians and workers, monitor output, and ensure timely completion of orders.
Manage the production and service team, track attendance and productivity, provide work instructions, resolve operational issues, and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
Inspect raw materials, components, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, workmanship, and quality standards.
- Procurement and Inventory Coordination
Identify material requirements, raise purchase requests, follow up with vendors, maintain adequate stock levels, and prevent production delays due to material shortages.
Source and coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, contractors, and service vendors for materials, components, outsourced work, repairs, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Records and Documentation
Maintain accurate production records, material consumption reports, inventory updates, quality checklists, repair records, vendor details, dispatch records, and daily operational reports.
Visit customer or project sites for installation support, inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and coordination with customers, technicians, and contractors.
- Operations and Administration
Support the overall administration and operations of the factory, including dispatch coordination, tool and equipment management, workplace organisation, safety compliance, and interdepartmental coordination.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Experience in production, assembly, installation, maintenance, or repairs
- Strong team-handling and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of procurement, inventory, vendor management, and quality control
- Ability to read basic technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
- Proficiency in MS Excel, email, and production record maintenance
- Willingness to travel to customer or project sites when required
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
Preferred Candidate Profile
The candidate should be hands-on, organised, responsible, and capable of independently managing production activities, workers, vendors, materials, quality, repairs, and day-to-day factory operations.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
