Role Overview
The Team Leader – Pre-Sales leads the pre-sales telecalling team and the Guest Relations Executives, driving lead engagement across inbound and outbound channels and converting qualified interest into community site visits.
This is a number-carrying leadership role, not a supervisory one. You own the site visit target for the team, the quality of every conversation that produces it, the CRM and MIS discipline behind it, and the capability of the people doing the calling. At Primus, a prospect is rarely deciding alone — they are deciding with their family, about their independence. The volume of calls matters; the quality of the conversation decides the outcome.
As Primus scales from three communities to seven, what you build here becomes the pre-sales template for every new city
1. Team Leadership — Pre-Sales Executives & GRE
● Lead, manage and develop the pre-sales telecalling team and the Guest Relations Executives across communities.
● Own hiring, onboarding, ramp and retention for the team in partnership with HR; ramp every new joiner to target within the agreed window.
● Run structured weekly 1:1s covering pipeline, call quality feedback, and one development action per person.
● Train and mentor the team on the Primus proposition, family-led decision dynamics, objection handling and empathetic customer interaction.
● Ensure the GRE experience at the community matches the promise made on the call — the handover from voice to walk-in is a single journey, not two teams.
2. Inbound & Outbound Calling — Drive the Engine
● Drive daily inbound and outbound calling activity across the team with disciplined, timely follow-ups.
● Enforce a first-response SLA on every inbound enquiry — phone, email, website, campaign, referral and walk-in — with defined escalation when breached.
● Own outbound campaign execution: database quality, calling plan, connect rates, and re-engagement of cold and lapsed leads.
● Own allocation and routing of leads across the team; ensure fair distribution and zero orphan leads.
3. Lead Qualification & Site Visit Conversion
● Own and deliver the quarterly site visit target; break it into monthly and weekly team and individual run rates and review them weekly.
● Raise qualification standards — need, eligibility, budget band, family decision-maker and timeline captured before a visit is scheduled.
● Run a daily funnel stand-up: enquiries in, connects made, consultations completed, visits scheduled, visits honoured, no-shows recovered.
● Diagnose drop-offs at stage level and intervene where the leak actually is, not where it is loudest.
● Own no-show recovery as a discipline: re-engagement calls, family-inclusive rescheduling, visit-day reminders.
● Ensure every visit handed to Sales is briefed and warm; run a weekly joint review with Sales on visit-to booking conversion and feed loss reasons back into qualification criteria.
4. Performance Monitoring, MIS & CRM Discipline
● Guarantee 100% Zoho CRM hygiene: every interaction logged, every stage accurate, every next action dated. Run a weekly audit and hold the team to it.
● Publish the weekly pre-sales MIS — funnel health, source-wise performance, SLA compliance, ageing leads, call productivity — to Sales leadership.
● Audit a defined number of calls per executive per week against a call-quality rubric; coach on the recording, not on the summary.
● Report campaign and channel-wise lead quality so marketing spend follows conversion, not volume.
5. Process & Scale
● Build and maintain the pre-sales playbook — enquiry scripts, objection handling, family-conversation guidance, competitor positioning — and keep it current.
● Convert prospect conversations into structured market intelligence for Sales and Marketing: objections, pricing perception, competitor mentions, source quality.
● Partner with Community Operations on open houses, events and community tours.
● Design pre-sales processes that are replicable in a new city as Primus scales from three to seven communities.
Candidate Profile
Must Have
● 5–8 years in pre-sales, telecalling or inside sales, with a minimum of 2 years directly leading a team and carrying a team number.
● Experience in a considered, high-ticket, long-cycle purchase — real estate, senior living, hospitality, healthcare, premium services or wealth. Real estate pre-sales preferred.
● Proven team handling: hiring, ramping, coaching and retaining frontline telecalling talent. ● Strong command of funnel data — comfortable building run-rates, reading stage-wise drop-offs, and defending a number in a review.
● Hands-on CRM ownership — Zoho CRM strongly preferred (Salesforce / HubSpot acceptable); able to configure views, audit hygiene and build reports independently.
● Advanced Microsoft Excel; able to build and own weekly MIS without support.
● Genuine empathy and patience with seniors and their families, with the maturity to hold a difficult conversation without rushing it.
Good to Have
● Experience setting up or scaling a pre-sales function across multiple locations or cities.
● Exposure to eldercare, assisted living, wellness or healthcare services.
● Experience managing a customer-facing, on-site team (GRE, front office or guest relations) alongside a tele-calling team.
How We'll Know It's the Right Person
● They can tell you exactly where their funnel leaked last quarter and what they did about it. ● They coach their team on the call recording, not on the CRM entry.
● They treat 'no-show' and 'not interested' as diagnostics, not as closure.
● They slow a conversation down when the prospect needs it — and still hit the number.
Why Join Us?
● Mission with meaning: Be part of India's first holistic eldercare ecosystem — work that changes how a generation experiences ageing, with dignity, independence and belonging at its centre.
● Build, don't inherit: Pre-sales at Primus is being designed, not maintained. You will set the playbook that seven communities will run on.
● Real growth path: As we scale pan-India, this role is the natural feeder to Manager – Pre-Sales and regional sales leadership.
● Performance-driven culture: A clear quarterly OKR scorecard, transparent targets, and an incentive structure that rewards the number you own.
● Cross-functional exposure: Work directly with Sales, Marketing, Community Operations and the Founder's Office in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
