Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Commis II - South Indian to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs to prepare authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen organization. You will be an integral part of our kitchen brigade, contributing to the seamless execution of our South Indian cuisine program during all service periods.

Prepare and cook South Indian dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards

Perform precise knife work and food preparation tasks with attention to detail and consistency

Maintain and organize your assigned station, ensuring all tools and ingredients are properly arranged (mise en place)

Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment

Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours

Assist senior chefs with recipe development and food preparation for South Indian specialties

Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes meet quality standards

Respond promptly to feedback from senior kitchen staff and continuously improve your skill set

Work efficiently during high-volume service periods and adapt to changing kitchen demands

Support inventory management by reporting on ingredient usage and quality
Qualifications

1-2 years of experience as a Commis I or similar junior kitchen position

Demonstrated expertise in South Indian cooking techniques and traditional recipes

Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation methods

Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a kitchen brigade

Reliable time management and ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends

Basic English communication skills for kitchen coordination and instruction comprehension

Knowledge of regional South Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods (preferred)

Experience working in high-volume or multi-service kitchen environments (preferred)

Familiarity with modern kitchen equipment and cooking technology (preferred)
