ob Purpose
To manage and control the complete garment production process from cutting to finishing and packing, ensuring timely production, optimum productivity, quality standards, manpower utilization, cost control, and achievement of daily/monthly production targets.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on confirmed orders and delivery schedules.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the planned schedule.
- Coordinate with merchandising, purchase, inventory, sampling, and dispatch teams.
- Monitor production progress against planned quantities and identify delays immediately.
- Ensure production is completed within the required timelines, especially during the school uniform season.
2. Production Floor Management
- Supervise complete production activities including cutting, stitching, embroidery, finishing, checking, ironing, packing, and TTM/scanning wherever applicable.
- Allocate manpower and machines according to production requirements.
- Monitor line-wise and process-wise productivity.
- Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action to improve production flow.
- Ensure proper utilization of machines, manpower, fabric, trims, and other resources.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure garments are manufactured according to approved samples, specifications, measurements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to reduce rejection, rework, alteration, and wastage.
- Analyze quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure first-piece/sample approval before bulk production.
- Maintain consistency in school-wise and article-wise quality.
4. Productivity & Target Management
- Set daily production targets for each production section and monitor achievement.
- Track output, efficiency, rejection, rework, wastage, WIP, and downtime.
- Improve productivity through proper manpower allocation and process optimization.
- Monitor contractor/vendor-wise production performance where production is outsourced.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available production capacity.
5. WIP & Production Monitoring
- Maintain proper control over Work-in-Progress (WIP).
- Monitor movement of garments between cutting, stitching, finishing, TTM, checking, and packing.
- Identify ageing WIP and take immediate action to clear pending production.
- Ensure accurate production reporting and reconciliation of quantities.
6. Manpower Management
- Manage production supervisors, line leaders, operators, helpers, checkers, finishers, and other production staff.
- Prepare manpower requirements according to production plans.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Train employees on production methods, quality standards, safety, and work discipline.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of production teams.
7. Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Ensure machines are available and operational as per production requirements.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor machine downtime and ensure minimum production loss.
- Recommend additional machines or equipment based on production requirements.
8. Material & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with the Inventory/Purchase Department for timely availability of fabric, trims, accessories, labels, packing material, etc.
- Ensure production is not affected due to material shortages.
- Control material wastage and ensure proper utilization of fabric and accessories.
- Report shortages, excess consumption, or material discrepancies to management.
9. ERP / Wizaap & Reporting
- Ensure production entries, job cards, production quantities, WIP, and other relevant data are updated accurately in Wizaap/ERP.
- Maintain daily production reports and department-wise performance reports.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management.
- Provide MIS covering production target vs. actual, efficiency, rejection, WIP, manpower, and machine utilization.
10. Cost & Efficiency Control
- Control production costs by minimizing wastage, overtime, rework, rejection, and idle manpower.
- Monitor overtime and ensure it is utilized only where operationally required.
- Improve production efficiency without compromising quality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
11. Contractor Management
- Coordinate with third-party production contractors where applicable.
- Allocate production quantities and monitor delivery schedules.
- Check contractor-wise productivity, quality, WIP, and pending quantities.
- Ensure contractor production meets company quality and delivery standards.
12. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure production areas maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards.
- Ensure workers follow company rules, safety procedures, and production discipline.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin regarding manpower-related issues and disciplinary matters.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate/Diploma in Garment Technology, Textile, Production Management, or related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in garment/uniform manufacturing, preferably school uniforms.
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes from cutting to finishing.
- Good understanding of production planning, manpower management, quality control, and WIP management.
- Experience in handling production teams and multiple production lines.
- Knowledge of ERP/software such as Wizaap or similar production management systems is preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak school-uniform seasons.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
