Job Title: Mechanical HOD (Head of Department)

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Mechanical HOD to lead the Mechanical Maintenance Department of a Coal Handling Plant (CHP). The candidate will be responsible for maintenance planning, equipment reliability, manpower management, safety compliance, and achieving production targets with minimum downtime. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise the Mechanical Maintenance team. Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. Ensure smooth operation of conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, hoppers, pulleys, gearboxes, bearings, chutes, and other CHP equipment. Minimize equipment downtime and improve plant availability. Plan shutdowns and monitor maintenance activities. Manage engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contract manpower. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all safety standards and statutory requirements. Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, and Civil departments. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports. Required Qualifications B.E./B.Tech/Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering. 10–15+ years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance. Experience in Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Mining, Power Plant, Cement, or Steel Industry. Required Skills Conveyor, Crusher, Gearbox, Bearing & Hydraulic System Maintenance. Welding, Fabrication & Shaft/Pulley Alignment. Equipment Installation, Erection & Commissioning. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance Planning. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Troubleshooting. Team Leadership & Manpower Management. Good communication and reporting skills.
