We are seeking a responsible, organized, and service-oriented Transport Assistant to support the efficient management of the University's transportation services for students, faculty, staff, and official activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day coordination and administration of the University's transport operations.
- Coordinate vehicle schedules, route planning, and deployment of buses and official vehicles.
- Maintain records of vehicle movement, driver attendance, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, servicing, repairs, insurance renewals, pollution certificates, and fitness certificates of university vehicles.
- Liaise with drivers, transport vendors, service providers, and internal departments for smooth transport operations.
- Monitor transport-related complaints and assist in resolving operational issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, university policies, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain transport documentation, permits, logbooks, and vehicle records accurately.
- Assist in managing student and staff transport allocations and route modifications as required.
- Support transportation arrangements for university events, admissions, examinations, conferences, and official visits.
- Prepare periodic reports related to fleet utilization, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Transport Officer or University Administration.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in transport administration, fleet management, logistics, or institutional transport operations.
- Experience in educational institutions or large organizations will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of transport administration and fleet coordination.
- Familiarity with vehicle documentation, statutory compliance, and maintenance procedures.
- Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and service providers.
- Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments effectively.

Compensation
Salary shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and institutional norms.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
