Role Overview
Kabadiwalla Connect is looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager who will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of multiple projects across the organisation.
The role will work across different KC projects and will involve coordinating with internal teams, informal-sector stakeholders, vendors, clients, partners, and other project stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to take ownership of day-to-day project execution, ensure activities are completed within timelines, maintain project documentation, and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
The role requires a hands-on and highly organised individual who is comfortable working both in the field and on project coordination, documentation, procurement, and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Coordination & Execution
- Support the planning and implementation of multiple projects across KC.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities across project teams and ensure tasks are completed as planned.
- Follow up with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project activities.
- Identify operational challenges and escalate issues to the Project Manager or leadership team.
- Support the implementation of new projects and provide on-ground feedback to improve processes.
2. Field Operations & Stakeholder Coordination
- Conduct field visits, surveys, and assessments for project implementation and development.
- Coordinate with scrap shops, waste pickers, aggregators, apartment complexes, vendors, recyclers, and other stakeholders.
- Support business conversions and onboarding of new collection or procurement partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and support the development of new partnerships.
- Work closely with field teams to monitor activities and resolve operational issues.
3. Procurement & Supply Chain Support
- Support procurement activities for recyclable materials, including identification and onboarding of suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers, aggregators, transporters, processors, and buyers.
- Support price negotiations and ensure procurement is undertaken at competitive prices.
- Monitor material quality, quantity, pricing, collection, transportation, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain procurement-related records and documentation.
- Identify potential new avenues for material procurement and sales.
4. Project Monitoring, Data & Reporting
- Maintain project trackers, databases, operational records, and supporting documentation.
- Collect and consolidate project data from field teams and other stakeholders.
- Prepare regular project updates, progress reports, and presentations for the leadership team.
- Identify gaps, delays, and deviations in project implementation and communicate them proactively.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
5. Team Coordination
- Coordinate with team members working across different projects to ensure smooth execution of activities.
- Follow up on action items and responsibilities assigned to team members.
- Support the Project Manager in allocating and coordinating operational tasks.
- Assist in maintaining team schedules, project plans, and activity trackers.
- Encourage effective communication and collaboration between field and office teams.
6. Administrative & Management Support
- Carry out basic project management and administrative tasks.
- Support budgeting, costing, procurement documentation, invoicing, and other project-related administrative activities.
- Maintain organised records of project-related documents, agreements, invoices, bills, and reports.
- Support preparation of project presentations, reports, and other documentation as required.
- Perform other project-related responsibilities assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, operations, supply chain, sales, field operations, or a related role.
- Experience working with an NGO, social enterprise, waste management organisation, recycling company, or similar organisation is preferred.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
- Comfortable conducting fieldwork and working closely with informal-sector stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to work with deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to converse effectively in Tamil and English.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle pressure and time-bound situations
- Basic understanding of budgeting, costing, and accounting principles.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other standard office tools.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Experience in the waste management, recycling, plastics, or circular economy sector is preferred.

₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability for the role
