Position: Technical Trainer – Automotive Design

About the Role
Pumo Technovation is looking for a Technical Trainer – Automotive Design who can train and guide students in real-world automotive design practices using industry-standard CAD tools.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of one or more major automotive design domains such as Trims, BIW, or Wiring Harness, with hands-on experience in CATIA or NX CAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical training in automotive design using CATIA and/or NX CAD.
- Train students on automotive design concepts, workflows, and industry practices.
- Cover automotive design domains such as:
- Automotive Trims Design
- BIW (Body-in-White) Design
- Wiring Harness Design
- Explain design methodology, modelling practices, assemblies, drafting, and design documentation.
- Create practical projects and industry-oriented exercises for students.
- Guide students in developing automotive components and assemblies based on design requirements.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and technical assessments.
- Stay updated with current automotive design practices and industry requirements.
- Support curriculum development and improvement based on industry trends.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and/or NX CAD.
- Good understanding of at least one automotive design segment:
- Trims
- BIW
- Wiring Harness
- Strong understanding of 3D modelling, assembly, drafting, and automotive design fundamentals.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and working with engineering students.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of ANSYS or other CAE/analysis tools.
- Understanding of structural, thermal, or basic automotive analysis.
- Industry experience in automotive design, engineering services, or product development.
- Experience working on real-world automotive projects.
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, and engineering documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience or strong practical expertise in automotive design will be an added advantage.
