Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. The role involves coordinating daily housekeeping operations, training team members, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping attendants.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with company standards.
- Assign daily work schedules and monitor staff productivity.
- Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff.
- Ensure all rooms are cleaned, maintained, and prepared according to established standards.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; report shortages and coordinate replenishment.
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the Engineering/Maintenance department for timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally and promptly.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records, inspection reports, and shift documentation.
- Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, and performance management.
- Support departmental goals by promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- 2–5 years of housekeeping experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and experience with housekeeping management systems are an advantage.
