About the Role:
We are seeking a data-driven Senior Research Associate to lead our evidence-building initiatives. Unlike generalist roles, this position is designed for a specialist who can navigate complex datasets to uncover insights into child protection.
Core Responsibilities:-
- Conceptualise and conduct clear, logical and compelling research studies that highlight the challenges relating to children and collect evidence for solution
- Planning and executing primary research studies; developing detailed study protocol and design study instruments in consultation with the team; analysis and interpretation of research studies
- Data collection, quality assurance, analysis and monitoring of data collection staff
- Conduct secondary research studies using multiple data sources
- Assist in organising expert group meetings and multi-stakeholder consultations as per requirement
- Prepare regular updates and archive key data from different sources
Skills & Competencies Required:-
Understanding of the social, economic and political context and status of children in
India and their health and nutrition
o Understanding of laws related to children and their health viz, UNCRC, RTI Act, ICDS, ICPS,
NCLP, etc.
o Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytical skills
o Experience in handling large-scale data sets and Census data
o Demonstrated documentation and report writing skills
o Strong language proficiency in English and Hindi; Excellent writing skills
o Excellent interpersonal and team work capabilities
o Ability to manage multiple tasks
o Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Biostatistics from a premier institute
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in STATA, SPSS is mandatory.
- Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the Indian child rights legal framework (POCSO, RTE, JJ Act) will be an added advantage.
