Job Summary
The Fire & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees, guests, contractors, and property by implementing fire prevention measures, conducting safety inspections, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and responding effectively to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular fire and safety inspections of the premises.
- Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain and inspect fire-fighting equipment, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, smoke detectors, and alarm systems.
- Coordinate periodic maintenance and testing of fire protection systems.
- Organize fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
- Train employees on fire safety, emergency response, and the use of fire-fighting equipment.
- Investigate fire incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain all fire and safety records, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential fire and safety hazards.
- Ensure contractors comply with safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Coordinate with local fire authorities during inspections and emergencies.
- Monitor workplace safety standards and recommend improvements.
- Ensure emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly points remain clear and properly marked.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fire & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Certification in Fire & Safety Management is preferred.
- Knowledge of local fire safety regulations and occupational health and safety standards.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Fire & Safety Officer in a hotel, commercial building, hospital, manufacturing plant, or industrial facility.
- Experience in luxury hotels is preferred for hospitality roles.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of fire prevention and emergency response.
- Familiarity with fire alarm and suppression systems.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Incident investigation and report-writing abilities.
- Risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Leadership and teamwork.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergencies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.
Preferred Certifications
- Fire & Safety Officer Certification
- NEBOSH / IOSH (preferred)
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Basic Fire Fighting and Emergency Response Training
Pay: ₹31,955.44 - ₹65,716.13 per month
