Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Estimation Engineer to join our interior projects team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and project budgets for interior fit-out works. This role requires strong technical knowledge of interior materials, quantity take-offs, vendor pricing, and cost analysis to ensure competitive and profitable project estimations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural, interior, and MEP drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed BOQs (Bills of Quantities), quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality interior projects.
- Perform quantity estimation and rate analysis for civil, carpentry, modular furniture, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, false ceiling, flooring, painting, and finishing works.
- Coordinate with the Design, Project, Procurement, and Accounts teams to gather project requirements and estimation inputs.
- Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors and prepare comparative statements.
- Analyze project costs and recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or design intent.
- Assist in value engineering, budgeting, and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support tender preparation, bid submissions, and client clarifications as required.
- Maintain updated cost databases, material rates, vendor records, and estimation documentation.
- Monitor project budgets and update cost projections during project execution.
- Stay informed about current market rates, materials, products, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in estimation for interior fit-out or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furniture, MEP services, and construction methods.
- Experience in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and tender documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ERP software or estimation software will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
