Overview:
SSOE is currently seeking a Structural Designer to join our Automotive, Manufacturing, and Facilities team. The qualified candidate should have experience working on industrial building projects, particularly within the Manufacturing and Automotive industries. Experience with Commercial and Institutional projects is preferred. Candidates should have proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all-encompassing:

Support project teams in the preparation of structural models, drawings, and construction documents.

Develop and modify 2D drawings and 3D models for steel and concrete structures in accordance with project requirements, BIM standards, and company drafting practices.

Gather and organize information from drawings, specifications, sketches, and other project documentation to support design development.

Assist in preparing accurate structural models and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit Structure.

Review drawings for dimensional accuracy and identify potential clashes or interferences within the model.

Coordinate with structural engineers and multi-disciplinary design teams to incorporate project requirements into design deliverables.

Analyze sketches, markups, and design instructions to determine appropriate drafting and modeling approaches.

Support BIM coordination activities using Navisworks and other project collaboration tools.

May be required to visit project sites to verify existing field conditions and assist with field documentation.

Maintain project documentation and adhere to established CAD/BIM standards and procedures.

Stay current with industry drafting practices and software technologies.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of industrial and commercial building systems and structural design concepts.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing assigned tasks independently.
Qualifications:
What You Will Bring:

Diploma in Civil discipline, or Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, CAD/BIM Design Technology, or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structural design, drafting, and modeling of steel and concrete structures using AutoCAD and Revit.

Working knowledge of structural drawings, construction documentation, and BIM workflows.

Familiarity with Model Building Codes and basic understanding of AISC, ACI, and other relevant industry standards.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Navisworks, and BIM 360.

Basic understanding of interoperability between design software platforms (e.g., Revit and structural analysis software such as RISA).

Ability to learn new software tools and adapt to project-specific requirements.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.

Strong English communication skills with the ability to coordinate with the global teams and facilitate a professional relationship.

Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain the communication with the USA teams.
