About the Role
We are a Mumbai-headquartered engineering and solar EPC group with manufacturing and project operations across multiple states. We are hiring our first in-house Legal Manager to take ownership of the group's complete legal portfolio — active litigation, contract and tender review, trademark protection, receivables recovery, and property/regulatory matters. You will be the single point of accountability for all legal matters, driving external counsel rather than merely coordinating with them. This role reports directly to the promoters.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation management: Own a live tracker of all ongoing cases across courts and forums — stage, next hearing, next action. Ensure our filings and appearances are never the cause of delay. Conduct pre-hearing readiness checks and post-hearing debriefs with external counsel.
Counsel accountability: Manage all external advocates and law firms — quarterly case-strategy reviews, performance assessment, and recommendations on counsel selection per matter type.
Resolution strategy: For every matter, maintain a documented fight/settle/park recommendation with cost-benefit reasoning, refreshed quarterly for promoter review.
Contract & tender review: Pre-bid legal review of EPC tender conditions — EMD/bank guarantee exposure, LD clauses, arbitration terms. First-pass review of business contracts and agreements.
Trademark & IP protection: Manage the group's trademark portfolio — registrations, watch for infringement, and drive enforcement (cease-and-desist through to litigation) with specialist IP counsel.Receivables recovery: Drive legal recovery of overdue receivables — demand notices, MSME Samadhaan proceedings where applicable, Section 138 actions, and settlement negotiations.
Property & regulatory: Handle land/property matters including NA conversions, redevelopment documentation, lease agreements, municipal notices, and title documentation across group properties.
Legal risk escalation: Escalate new notices and legal risks to promoters within 48 hours with a recommended response.
What We're Looking For:-
LLB from a recognized university (LLM a plus); 5–8 years post-qualification experience. Genuine litigation exposure — disputes practice at a law firm, chamber practice, or an in-house litigation-heavy role. Pure contracts/compliance profiles will not fit. Working familiarity with Mumbai courts and tribunals; exposure to MSME Samadhaan, trademark enforcement, or property/revenue matters is a strong plus. Ability to hold your ground with senior external counsel and drive them to outcomes. High integrity and discretion — this role handles confidential group matters. Able to read court documents in Marathi and Hindi.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
