Position Title: Administrative Officer
Location: Velammal Vidyalaya, Tambaram
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary
The Administrative Officer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the Tirupati branch, ensuring smooth coordination among departments, efficient campus maintenance, regulatory compliance, and effective support to academic and non-academic functions. The role requires strong organizational skills, leadership, and the ability to handle multiple operational priorities with discipline and accountability.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. General Administration
- Supervise all administrative functions including housekeeping, security, transport, and maintenance.
- Ensure school infrastructure, classrooms, labs, and facilities are maintained as per Velammal standards.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and contractors for timely maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain office discipline, cleanliness, and a safe, hygienic environment for students and staff.
B. HR & Establishment Support
- Assist HR in attendance management, leave tracking, and record maintenance.
- Support recruitment drives, onboarding, ID card processing, and staff communication.
- Handle staff accommodation, travel logistics, and other related arrangements.
C. Student Support & Public Relations
- Manage front office operations, visitor handling, and communication flow within the school.
- Support parent communication, grievance redressal, and feedback collection.
- Ensure smooth conduct of school events, functions, examinations, and meetings.
D. Accounts & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with Accounts for fee collection data, petty cash management, and expense tracking.
- Maintain stock register for consumables, stationery, and assets.
- Monitor utility consumption (electricity, water, internet) and submit monthly reports.
E. Statutory & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local government regulations, fire safety norms, and school operation approvals.
- Maintain documentation for building licenses, NOCs, and vendor agreements.
- Conduct safety drills and ensure readiness for emergencies.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Tamil, and Telugu (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital documentation.
- Problem-solving attitude, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a school environment.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration / Management / Any discipline (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in school / educational / institutional administration.
- Experience handling facility management, vendor coordination, and HR support roles.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
