About the Role
Jhonka Solutions Private Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior HVAC Design Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, residential, and specialized engineering projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in HVAC design, load calculations, equipment selection, and project coordination while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesHVAC Design & Engineering
- Design HVAC systems including air conditioning, ventilation, heating, exhaust, and pressurization systems.
- Perform cooling and heating load calculations using industry-standard software.
- Prepare HVAC layouts, schematics, ducting drawings, piping drawings, and equipment schedules.
- Select and size HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, pumps, cooling towers, and ventilation equipment.
- Develop BOQs (Bill of Quantities), technical specifications, and tender documents.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, structural engineers, and project teams.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide technical recommendations.
- Resolve design conflicts and support project execution teams during installation.
- Review shop drawings and vendor submissions for technical compliance.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Prepare detailed design reports and technical documentation.
- Conduct design validations and value engineering exercises.
- Maintain project records and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Support quality audits and ensure adherence to company standards.
Client & Vendor Management
- Interact with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and technical offers.
- Provide technical support during procurement and commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- HVAC Design Certification will be an added advantage.
- 5–10+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, hospitality, or residential projects preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and HVAC design software.
- Experience with HAP, TRACE 700, Revit MEP, or similar HVAC design tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC systems and sustainability principles.
- Familiarity with BOQ preparation, estimation, and tendering processes.
