Job Summary:
The MEP Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring safety compliance during the installation, testing, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems at construction sites. The role involves implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all MEP activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all MEP works (HVAC, Fire Fighting, Electrical, Plumbing) are executed safely at the project site.
- Conduct daily safety inspections at work locations and identify potential hazards.
- Monitor activities such as pipe installation, hydro testing, lifting operations, scaffolding, and electrical works.
- Implement and enforce site safety rules, PPE usage, and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs for workers and supervisors.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, incident reports, and inspection records.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor fire safety arrangements and emergency response procedures at site.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or relevant field.
Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in construction site safety, preferably in MEP projects.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of MEP installation safety procedures.
- Good understanding of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Strong observation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
