JOB DESCRIPTION FOR R&D Officer/ Product Development Officer
Reports to: R&D Head
Subordinates: R&D Executive
Qualifications:
Basics-M.Sc /M.Tech /M.Pharm - Master's degree in Phytochemistry/Chemistry/Food Technology/Biotechnology/Pharmacy
Experience – 4-5 y of product development in the nutraceutical/herbal/botanical
industry preferred.
Requisite skills and knowledge for this position:
Proven experience in research and product development
Have experience with laboratory techniques and methods relevant to product development
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiar with project tools and methodologies
Have knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to the industry
Proficient in data analysis software and tools
Have an understanding of control processes in R&D
Have good communication and collaboration abilities
Job description:
Roles and responsibilities
Perform New Product Development (NPD) including literature survey, ingredient sourcing, screening raw materials, formulation trials, and scaleup
Conduct thorough analysis of qualitative and quantitative data for product design and development
Support projects through effective delivery of trials, preliminary analysis of results, and technical reports
Improve existing products through applications of advanced techniques and technologies
Prepare product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs
Collaborate with the marketing team to understand customers’ requirements and troubleshoot technical issues
Maintain R&D trial data and records
Support the development and implementation of new methodologies and technologies to enhance R&D efficiency
Reporting requirements:
Reporting on a daily basis to the Reporting Manager or Officer. Submit work reports, whenever required by the Manager.
Decision making and authority:
As per authority matrix
Authority – R&D Head
Other requirements
Wear white lab coat in the lab for analytical work and lab coat + head mask for formulation trials. No mobile phones allowed in the lab. Cosmetics, not allowed to avoid contamination risks.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
