Job Description: Service Manager
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) — Authorised 2-Wheeler Dealership
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to lead our after-sales service operations at our HMSI authorised dealership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 2-wheeler service management, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to drive workshop efficiency while meeting OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Operations & Management
- Oversee end-to-end service workshop operations, including job card opening, vehicle allocation, quality check, and delivery
- Ensure optimal bay utilisation and technician productivity to meet daily and monthly service targets
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety standards, and compliance with HMSI dealership norms (DSS / SAP systems)
- Manage scheduling for periodic maintenance, running repairs, accidental repairs, and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection)
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Service Advisors, Technicians, and Workshop staff
- Plan manpower requirements, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training needs
- Coordinate with HMSI for technical training programs and certifications for workshop staff
Customer Satisfaction
- Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure timely, satisfactory resolution
- Monitor and improve CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and NPS scores as per HMSI benchmarks
- Ensure regular follow-up on pending jobs, repeat repairs, and vehicle delivery timelines
Spare Parts & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with the Spare Parts Manager for availability of critical and fast-moving parts
- Minimise job delays due to parts unavailability; manage warranty claim parts returns per HMSI guidelines
Revenue & Business Development
- Drive service revenue through upselling of value-added services, AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), accessories fitment, and insurance renewals
- Monitor and control workshop expenses, labour efficiency, and cost per repair order
- Achieve monthly targets for Labour Revenue, Parts Sales, and Accessories revenue
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate warranty claim submissions as per the HMSI warranty policy
- Maintain service records, job card histories, and vehicle history logs as per DMS norms
- Submit daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports to the Dealer Principal / Management
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- ITI in Automotive Technology considered with extensive experience
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in 2-wheeler service operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role at an authorised dealership
- Prior experience at an HMSI dealership or other reputed 2-wheeler OEM dealership (TVS, Bajaj, Hero) is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Sound knowledge of 2-wheeler engine systems, EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection), ABS, and BS6 emission norms
- Proficiency in Dealer Management Systems (DMS) — HDMS / SAP / Tally
- Familiarity with HMSI service processes, warranty norms, and audit requirements
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent customer handling and conflict resolution skills
- Good analytical and decision-making ability
- Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of English, Hindi, and local language
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
