Abby Lighting is expanding into a new vertical of Decorative Lighting, focusing on bringing innovative and premium lighting solutions to the market. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an experienced Senior Import Professional who will manage and streamline our import operations, especially sourcing and importing lighting products from China.
Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Import professional with strong expertise in international trade, China imports, customs procedures, documentation, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing end-to-end import processes and ensuring smooth clearance and delivery of shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import operations for decorative lighting products sourced from China.
- Coordinate with Chinese suppliers/vendors for purchase orders, production timelines, shipment planning, and documentation.
- Handle import documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading, COO, and other required documents.
- Manage customs clearance processes and coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, duties, HS codes, and government policies.
- Negotiate and coordinate with freight forwarders for cost-effective and timely shipments.
- Track shipments from origin to final delivery and resolve operational issues.
- Work closely with internal teams including Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, and Sales for smooth inventory planning.
- Maintain knowledge of import policies, customs regulations, and international shipping practices.
- Identify opportunities to optimize import costs, lead times, and processes.
- Maintain proper records of import transactions, documentation, and vendor details.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Import Operations / International Trade.
- Strong hands-on experience in importing goods from China is mandatory.
- Experience in handling custom clearance, CHA coordination, freight forwarding, and import documentation.
- Knowledge of import duties, GST, HS codes, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in working with overseas suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Ability to independently manage shipments and resolve import-related challenges.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
