Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Gurugram
Working Days: 5 days (Mon-Fri)
Experience Required: 12+ years
Our Client is an app-based logistics platform focused on improving freight movement through a connected digital ecosystem for shippers, fleet owners, and other stakeholders. The company aims to solve inefficiencies in load discovery, trip execution, live tracking, route planning, capacity utilization, and service reliability through scalable logistics technology.
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead Our Client’s end-to-end technology vision, platform architecture, engineering execution, infrastructure strategy, data platform, and security posture. This role is expected to build a resilient, cloud-native, API-first logistics platform that can scale across geographies, customers, partners, and high transaction volumes while enabling rapid product innovation.
Core Technical Ownership Areas
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the Our Client platform, including microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, data stores, partner interfaces, and frontend applications.
- Define standards for domain boundaries, service contracts, versioning, reusability, and dependency management to ensure a modular and maintainable platform.
- Design systems for high availability, horizontal scalability, fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and resilience under peak loads.
- Drive technology decisions across backend, frontend, mobile, cloud, data, and integration layers based on scalability, maintainability, and business speed.
- Institutionalize strong engineering practices including clean architecture, coding standards, code reviews, unit and integration testing, automated regression, and release discipline.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows that support faster, safer, and more frequent deployments.
- Architect secure cloud infrastructure using modern deployment and orchestration practices, infrastructure as code, and cost-aware scaling principles.
- Create observability standards covering logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and root-cause analysis mechanisms.
- Own reliability engineering practices including SLOs, incident response, capacity planning, release governance, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Lead integration architecture for GPS devices, telematics systems, mapping providers, payment systems, and customer ERP/TMS/WMS platforms through secure APIs and webhooks.
- Define standards for API gateways, authentication, authorization, partner onboarding, rate limiting, encryption, and secure data exchange.
- Implement secure software development lifecycle practices, vulnerability management, secret management, and data protection controls.
- Design the data platform covering event streaming, warehouse or lake architecture, reporting models, and analytics layers for operational and commercial insights.
- Enable technology use cases such as ETA prediction, route optimization, pricing intelligence, demand forecasting, trip profitability, and utilization tracking.
- Work with analytics and data science teams to productionize models with strong governance for data quality and model performance.
- Build and lead a high-performance engineering organization across product engineering, platform, DevOps, QA, security, and data functions.
- Hire senior engineers and technical leaders, define role clarity, create growth paths, and drive a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
- Ensure clear separation and collaboration across architecture, delivery, product management, and business stakeholders as the company scales.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, platform development, or technology leadership.
- At least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role such as CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology, or equivalent.
- Strong experience in logistics, supply chain, mobility, marketplace platforms, SaaS, fleet-tech, or related high-scale technology environments.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud architecture, mobile applications, scalable databases, and enterprise integrations.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering reliable production-grade systems.
- Strong business orientation, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder communication skills.
Reporting Structure
The CTO will report directly to the Founder and CEO and will work closely with leadership across operations, sales, finance, and product functions to translate business priorities into scalable technology capabilities.
