Core Responsibilities
A Huskpac boiler operation engineer is responsible for running and maintaining the boiler efficiently and safely:
- Boiler Operation
- Start, stop, and monitor Huskpac boilers
- Maintain required steam pressure, temperature, and load conditions
- Ensure proper combustion of biomass fuel (like rice husk)
- Fuel & Combustion Management
- Monitor fuel feeding systems (conveyors, feeders)
- Adjust air–fuel ratio for efficient burning
- Reduce unburnt fuel and optimize efficiency
- Monitoring & Control
- Track parameters like steam pressure, drum level, flue gas temperature
- Operate control panels (manual/PLC-based systems)
- Record daily operating logs
Maintenance Duties
- Conduct routine inspection of boiler components (grates, tubes, fans)
- Identify issues like clinker formation, ash buildup, or tube leakage
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and shutdowns
- Ensure proper ash handling and disposal systems are functioning
Safety & Compliance
- Follow boiler safety standards and statutory regulations
- Ensure safe handling of high-pressure steam systems
- Conduct safety checks (valves, alarms, interlocks)
- Maintain compliance with pollution control norms
Efficiency & Optimization
- Improve boiler efficiency and reduce fuel consumption
- Monitor emissions and ensure eco-friendly operation
- Suggest improvements in operation or fuel usage
Skills Required
- Knowledge of biomass boilers / steam systems
- Understanding of thermodynamics basics
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems
- Troubleshooting skills for mechanical and process issues
- Awareness of safety practices
Typical Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Boiler operation certification (sometimes required depending on pressure capacity and local regulations)
Work Environment
- Industries like rice mills, food processing, textiles, paper mills, and power plants
