Job Requirements
At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer – Thermodynamics Evolution to support the transformation of conventional Oil & Gas facilities into low-carbon, energy-efficient, and net-zero emission operations. The role combines classical process engineering expertise with advanced thermodynamic optimization, carbon footprint reduction strategies, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, hydrogen technologies, carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS), electrification, and digital energy solutions.
The successful candidate will analyze, design, optimize, and improve upstream, midstream, downstream, LNG, refining, petrochemical, and emerging energy systems while driving sustainability objectives and supporting corporate net-zero commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform steady-state and dynamic process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Pro/II, UniSim, or equivalent tools.
- Develop thermodynamic models for hydrocarbon processing, LNG, gas treatment, refinery, petrochemical, hydrogen, and CCUS facilities.
- Optimize heat integration, energy recovery, process efficiency, and utility consumption.
- Conduct equipment sizing and design for:
-
Heat exchangers
-
Compressors
-
Pumps
-
Separators
-
Distillation columns
-
Reactors
-
Cryogenic systems
- Perform pinch analysis and exergy analysis to identify energy losses and improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Strong knowledge of Thermodynamics, Process Design, Heat & Mass Transfer, and Process Simulation.
-
Experience or certification in Carbon Capture (CCUS), Net Zero Emissions, Energy Management, Sustainability, or GHG Accounting is preferred.
We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questians are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard.
We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds.
