The Fashion Design Faculty is responsible for delivering high-quality education in fashion design, developing students’ creative and technical skills, and preparing them for careers in the fashion industry. The faculty member will conduct practical and theoretical classes, mentor students, organize industry exposure activities, and contribute to the overall academic excellence of the institute.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver lectures, practical sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.
* Teach subjects such as:
* Fashion Illustration
* Pattern Making
* Garment Construction
* Textile Science
* Surface Ornamentation
* Draping
* Fashion CAD
* Fashion Styling
* Fashion Merchandising (as applicable)
* Prepare lesson plans, study materials, assignments, and assessments.
* Evaluate student performance through projects, practical examinations, and presentations.
* Guide students in portfolio development and final collections.
* Maintain attendance, academic records, and internal assessment reports.
* Mentor students for competitions, exhibitions, fashion shows, and industry projects.
* Coordinate industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, and internships.
* Stay updated with current fashion trends, technology, and industry practices.
* Assist in admissions, student counselling, and promotional activities when required.
* Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of laboratories, sewing equipment, and studio resources.
* Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support placement activities by preparing students for interviews and industry requirements.
Required Qualifications
* Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
* Relevant teaching and/or industry experience is preferred.
* Fresh candidates with strong practical skills and a passion for teaching may also apply.
Required Skills
* Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and fashion illustration.
* Proficiency in Fashion CAD software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar tools).
