We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Professional with 6 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing-centric supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will take ownership of end-to-end strategic sourcing, raw material procurement (primarily steel grades and specialized coatings), Out Sourcing Operations (Wire Drawing , Slitting , Heat treatment etc) contract negotiation, and industrial vendor management. You will play a vital role in optimizing our supply chain efficiency, driving cost savings, and ensuring that all components adhere strictly to engineering drawings and international quality certifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Sourcing & Material Procurement: Lead the procurement of industrial raw materials (such as various steel grades, forged components, castings) and technical subcontracting services (heat treatment, galvanization, electroplating, Wire Drawing , Coil Slitting ).
· Vendor Development & Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable new domestic and international suppliers. Build strong long-term relationships while managing existing vendors through periodic KPIs and performance scorecards.
· Technical Compliance & Blueprint Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Engineering and Quality Assurance teams. Must be capable of reading, interpreting, and validating engineering drawings/specifications to ensure exact alignment with UL, FM, and ISO compliance standards.
· EPC & Project Procurement: Support procurement requirements for internal engineering projects, custom OEM fabrications, and expanding infrastructure/solar segments by coordinating timely deliveries.
· End-to-End Procurement Operations: Manage the entire purchase lifecycle—from reviewing Purchase Requisitions (PRs), issuing Requests for Quotations (RFQs), floating comparative statements, to generating and tracking Purchase Orders (POs) through to delivery. Draft, negotiate, and execute Service Level Agreements (SLAs), rate contracts, and purchase orders. Manage end-to-end documentation including commercial terms, payment cycles, and credit periods.
· Cost Optimization & Negotiation: Formulate and execute robust negotiation strategies regarding pricing, commercial terms, credit/payment terms, and logistics to drive substantial annual cost savings.
· Inventory Control & JIT Management: Coordinate with plant warehouse and store managers to monitor inventory health. Implement Just-In-Time (JIT) methods to eliminate the risk of production stock-outs while maintaining optimal working capital levels.
· Quality & Risk Mitigation: Track and resolve vendor non-conformance issues (NCRs) swiftly in alignment with internal quality control standards. Assess material market trends to mitigate supply chain risks and price volatility.
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a closely related industrial domain. An added MBA in Supply Chain or Material Management is a strong advantage.
· Experience: 6 to 7 years of solid procurement/purchasing experience, strictly within a manufacturing setup (preference for heavy engineering, steel fabrication, fasteners, or fast-moving industrial goods, Castings , Forgings ).
· Technical Domain Knowledge: * Deep understanding of metals, raw steel grades, and industrial protective coatings (Zinc flake, Hot-dip galvanized, Electro-galvanized). Different types of Ferrous and non Ferrous Castings , Forgings , Fabrication .
o Strong ability to read and interpret complex industrial engineering blueprints and specifications.
· Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise working with ERP modules (such as SAP MM, Tally Prime) and excellent command over MS Excel for data analysis and spending analytics.
· Core Competencies: Stellar commercial negotiation skills, clear cross-functional communication, analytical thinking, and high integrity.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Percentage of annual cost savings achieved against budget baseline.
· Supplier On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery rate.
· Inventory turnover ratio and reduction in material stock-out instances.
· Supplier quality rating (reduction in rejection rates at incoming inspection).
