Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to ensure safe working practices, identify workplace hazards, and maintain compliance with company safety procedures and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and work permits.
- Monitor safety activities related to PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) works, structural works, and height work.
- Ensure proper safety arrangements for work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, and material handling.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness programs.
- Monitor workers using proper PPE and fall-protection equipment.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, safety harnesses, lifelines, and other safety equipment.
- Assist in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations.
- Prepare safety inspection reports, incident reports, and other safety documentation.
- Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and workers to implement corrective actions.
- Support emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation drills.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory and occupational safety requirements.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 4–5 years of experience in industrial / manufacturing / construction safety.
- Strong experience in PEB and structural steel works.
- Good knowledge of work-at-height safety and fall protection systems.
- Experience in scaffolding and lifting operations.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safety inspections.
- Good understanding of PPE and industrial safety procedures.
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks and safety training.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Candidates with experience in steel manufacturing / structural fabrication / PEB projects will be preferred.
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Safety Engineering or Industrial Safety.
- Valid safety-related certification is preferred.
