We are seeking an experienced Rulebook Testing Lead to lead the testing strategy, planning, execution, and defect governance for insurance products configured on Verisk Rulebook / Sequel Rulebook. The role requires a strong combination of insurance domain understanding, pricing model testing, rules-engine validation, analytical thinking, stakeholder communication, and test leadership. The individual will work closely with Rulebook Configurators, Business Analysts, Underwriters, Actuarial teams, Operations SMEs, Product Owners, Developers, Integration teams, and London-based business stakeholders. The Testing Lead will be responsible for ensuring that Rulebook-configured products correctly reflect the agreed business rules, rating logic, underwriting guidelines, referral rules, workflow behaviour, document outputs, and integration requirements. This is not a generic testing role. The person must be able to test pricing calculations, Excel-to Rulebook migration accuracy, underwriting logic, quote-to-bind journey
Technical Skills Required:
Mandatory: ➢ Strong understanding of test planning, test design, test execution, defect management, and test reporting. ➢ Ability to understand complex Excel pricing models, formulas, rating tables, lookups, and calculation flows. ➢ Basic SQL knowledge for data validation. ➢ Ability to compare expected pricing results from Excel with actual Rulebook outputs. ➢ Strong analytical skills for pricing variance analysis and root-cause investigation. ➢ Understanding of XML or structured configuration files. ➢ Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Quality Center, Zephyr, or similar test management tools. ➢ Ability to create clear test cases, test data, defect reports, and test summary reports. ➢ Strong understanding of regression testing and release validation.
Desirable: ➢ Understanding of APIs, JSON, XML messages, and integration testing. ➢ Experience with automated testing tools is desirable but not mandatory. ➢ Exposure to document generation testing. ➢ Exposure to cloud-hosted insurance platforms. ➢ Experience testing broker portals, rating APIs, delegated authority platforms, or quote-and bind journeys.
Required Experience: ➢ 7–12+ years of experience in software testing, insurance platform testing, product configuration testing, rating engine testing, or business rules testing. ➢ 3+ years of experience leading testing teams or test workstreams. ➢ Experience testing insurance rating, underwriting, policy administration, rules-engine, or product configuration platforms. ➢ Direct experience with Verisk Rulebook / Sequel Rulebook is highly desirable.➢ If direct Rulebook experience is not available, experience with similar platforms such as FICO Blaze, Drools, IBM ODM, InRule, or other insurance rating/rules engines may be considered. ➢ Strong experience testing Excel-based pricing model migration into system-based platforms. ➢ Experience working with underwriting, actuarial, operations, product, and technology stakeholders. ➢ Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. ➢ Experience in SIT, UAT, regression testing, integration testing, and production release support. ➢ P&C / general insurance lifecycle. ➢ Submission, quote, bind, endorsement/MTA, renewal, and cancellation flows
Pay: Up to ₹4,000,000.00 per year
