About the Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced and accomplished Head of the Department (HoD) – Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) for a reputed college in Kasturinagar, Bengaluru. This leadership role is ideal for an academic professional who is passionate about driving excellence in higher education through academic leadership, faculty development, research, accreditation, and industry engagement.
The HoD will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the department, ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, and the holistic development of students while contributing to the institution's long-term vision and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic and administrative leadership to the BBA Department.
- Plan, implement, and periodically review the curriculum in accordance with Bengaluru North University and AICTE guidelines.
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop faculty members to build a high-performing academic team.
- Foster a culture of research through publications, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), conferences, workshops, and innovation initiatives.
- Strengthen industry engagement by facilitating internships, corporate interactions, guest lectures, industry visits, and MoUs.
- Monitor student academic performance, mentoring, discipline, and overall development.
- Lead departmental activities related to NAAC, IQAC, academic audits, statutory compliance, and accreditation.
- Prepare departmental budgets, academic reports, MIS reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with institutional committees and contribute to strategic academic and institutional initiatives.
- Support admissions, outreach, branding, placement activities, and continuous institutional development.
Eligibility & Qualification
Candidates must possess qualifications as prescribed under University and AICTE norms:
- B.Com or BBA
- M.Com or MBA
- M.Phil
- Ph.D.
- NET / KSET / SLET (as applicable)
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of teaching experience in Higher Education.
- At least 2 years in an academic leadership role such as Head of Department, Academic Coordinator, Programme Head, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in academic administration, faculty management, accreditation, curriculum planning, and institutional governance.
