Farm United, a DPIIT-recognized agritech company based in Guwahati, in partnership with Assam Skill University, is hiring a Trainer / Faculty member to deliver our 30-day Certificate Course in Digital Agri-Entrepreneurship — a hands-on programme that turns agriculture, botany, and life-science graduates into working agri-entrepreneurs.
Our trainees go on to become Agripreneurs: independent agri-service operators who bring precision-farming technology, structured advisory, and market access to smallholder farmers across Assam. In our Silchar pilot, a single trained Agripreneur helped 29 farmers achieve a 28% yield increase in one season. We're looking for a trainer who can build more people like that.
You'll deliver classroom and field-based training across four modules — agri-business models, digital marketing and supply chain, precision agriculture and technology, and financial planning — and mentor each cohort through to certification by Assam Skill University.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship, ideal for someone with a strong agriculture background who enjoys teaching and wants to shape Assam's next generation of agri-businesses.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the 45-hour Digital Agri-Entrepreneurship curriculum through classroom sessions, practical demonstrations, and field-based learning over each 30-day cohort.
- Teach across the four core modules: (1) agri-business models and innovation, (2) digital marketing and supply chain, (3) precision agriculture and technology (satellite/IoT-based advisory, data analytics), and (4) financial planning and management for agri-startups.
- Mentor trainees on building their own agri-service ventures, including familiarity with institutional financing pathways such as PM Mudra Yojana and FPO/JLG models (training support provided).
- Conduct assessments and coordinate certification with Assam Skill University.
- Adapt teaching materials to the local context and language, and to learners from varied academic backgrounds.
- Support cohort onboarding and gather feedback to improve the programme.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Botany, or a related life science (Master's preferred).
- Prior experience in training, teaching, agricultural extension, or running an agri-business.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in Assamese and/or Bengali plus English — you'll teach learners and work near farming communities.
- Comfort with technology-enabled agriculture and digital tools.
Preferred
- Familiarity with precision agriculture (satellite/sensor data, advisory platforms), agri-finance (Mudra, NABARD, FPO financing), or agri supply chains.
- Field experience working with smallholder farmers in Assam or the Northeast.
- Experience designing or delivering skill-development / certificate programmes.
