Job Title: Real Estate Legal ManagerJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Legal Manager to oversee all legal matters related to the company's real estate projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for legal due diligence, title verification, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and ensuring that all transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal due diligence for land acquisition and property transactions.
- Verify property titles, ownership records, encumbrances, and related legal documents.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet agreements including Sale Agreements, Joint Development Agreements (JDA), Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), Lease Agreements, Vendor Agreements, and Power of Attorney documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, including RERA, land revenue laws, registration laws, municipal regulations, and local development authority guidelines.
- Coordinate with government departments, legal consultants, advocates, and regulatory authorities for approvals, registrations, and legal clearances.
- Handle property registration, documentation, and statutory filings.
- Manage legal notices, consumer complaints, arbitration matters, and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
- Provide legal advice to management on land acquisition, project development, sales transactions, and risk mitigation.
- Support the sales and marketing teams by reviewing customer agreements and resolving legal queries.
- Maintain legal documentation, contracts, approvals, and compliance records.
- Monitor changes in real estate laws and regulatory frameworks, advising management on their impact.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and real estate projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- LL.M. or specialization in Property/Corporate Law is an added advantage.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council is preferred.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in real estate legal management, land acquisition, or property law.
- Prior experience with real estate developers, construction companies, infrastructure firms, or legal consulting organizations is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of property laws, land acquisition, RERA, registration laws, contract law, and municipal regulations.
- Expertise in title verification and legal due diligence.
- Excellent drafting and contract negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with litigation management and dispute resolution.
