Job Summary:
The role is responsible for managing the procurement of mechanical and electrical equipment, spares, and materials for water and wastewater treatment plants. The role involves technical coordination with engineering teams, vendor management, negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials in line with project schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure mechanical and electrical equipment as per project and plant specifications.
- Prepare and float Request for Quotations (RFQs) to approved vendors.
- Create comparative statements (Techno-Commercial) and finalize procurement in coordination with engineering and finance teams.
- Review and validate BOQs, datasheets, and technical specifications.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified vendors and OEMs for mechanical and electrical categories.
- Conduct vendor audits, performance tracking, and negotiations.
- Maintain a vendor database with updated pricing and lead time records.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure alignment with contractual and commercial terms.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and ISO procedures.
- Coordinate with finance for timely vendor payments and taxation matters.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure on-time material delivery to project sites or central stores.
- Track material movement, resolve delivery issues, and maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note) records.
- Collaborate with the engineering/design team to clarify specifications and resolve technical queries.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor drawing/document approvals.
· Responsible for sourcing and procurement of mechanical material like Pumps (Centrifugal, Submersible, Dosing), Valves (Gate, Globe, Butterfly, Pressure Relief, Non-Return), Pipes & fittings (GI, MS, HDPE, SS, PVC), Filters, strainers, screens, Blowers and compressors, Storage tanks (for chemicals or water), seals, gaskets, couplings, Structural steel (for equipment mounting), HVAC systems (sometimes included in plant utilities)
· Responsible for sourcing and procurement of electrical material like, Motors (for pumps, blowers, agitators), Panels (LT panels, MCC, VFD panels, control panels), Cables, cable trays, lugs, and glands, UPS, batteries, earthing materials, Instruments (flow meters, level sensors, pressure transmitters), Control and automation systems (PLCs, SCADA components), Lighting and internal wiring for control rooms
Required Qualification & Experience:
Ø Qualification: B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred); Electrical knowledge is a strong plus.
Ø Experience: 5–8 years of procurement experience in water treatment plants, utilities, or EPC projects.
Ø Desirable Certifications:
· PMP (Project Management Professional)
· Supply Chain Management Certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)
· ISO/QMS Awareness
Required Key Skills:
· Proficient in SAP/ERP, MS Excel, and procurement systems.
· Strong understanding of technical specifications, tendering, and contract terms.
· Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and coordination skills.
· Knowledge of INCOTERMS, tax implications (GST, duties), and delivery documentation.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical components
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
