The Merchandising Analyst will be part of Merchandising Operations Team where you will leverage your skills and business acumen to achieve the organization and team goals.
Job Purpose:
We are actively looking for a Merchandising Operations Analyst to provide buying/work unit with efficient support for the item set up and PO creation work. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can organize work priorities with supervision and responsibilities would also include taking independent decisions for low complexity problems. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and creative problem solving skills
Job Functions:
2 to 4 years of experience in Retail and Merchandising – Item Set Up, Category management and catalogue management- Communicates with various levels of management including merchandising managers, buyers and merchandising assistants
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Execution: Take full ownership of divisional setup strategies, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to organizational timelines. Continuously refine and enhance operational frameworks to support business scalability and process optimization.
- Enterprise-Wide Partnership Management: Develop and sustain high-impact collaborations with business units and suppliers, fostering a proactive support system for divisional analysts. Drive alignment across multiple teams to enhance supply chain fluidity and merchandising efficiency.
- Inventory Data Integrity & Governance: Oversee the divisional item creation process for owned inventory across domestic, imported, and factory-ship assortments. Ensure compliance with data accuracy standards to facilitate seamless integration and execution of inventory workflows.
- Advanced Data-Driven Decision Making: Conduct real-time analysis of daily operational data to identify discrepancies, resolve ambiguities, and enable agile decision-making. Provide actionable insights to optimize item setup and mitigate potential roadblocks.
- Supplier & Vendor Engagement Strategy: Spearhead supplier communications to streamline data collection for item setup. Lead post-setup workflows, ensuring seamless acquisition of images and execution of periodic inventory updates within JCPenney’s systems.
- Product Data Standardization & Optimization: Oversee the collection and validation of orderable and sellable attributes, ensuring end-to-end system accuracy. Drive the integrity of product data to enable seamless omnichannel sales execution.
- Digital & E-Commerce Integration: Establish a structured partnership with Digital Operations to oversee post-setup processes, including item image enhancements, inventory synchronization, and digital content deployment to JCPenney’s online storefront.
- Operational Intelligence & Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive weekly and monthly dashboards, tracking volume trends, workflow efficiency, and key performance metrics. Utilize data driven insights to refine operational strategies and drive continuous improvements.
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and corporate leadership, ensuring seamless coordination and proactive issue resolution. Lead daily communication efforts to drive alignment and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Merchandising and Item Data Management
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Masters will be added advantage)
- Critical thinking, Problem Solving, Mentoring & Decision-making
- Proficiency in Oracle RMS, data master, PIM or other related operating system
- Proficiency in intermediate excel
