Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Power Distribution Projects to lead and manage large-scale power distribution and electrical infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project execution, project planning, resource management, client coordination, cost control, quality, safety, and timely completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end execution of power distribution projects, including HT/LT lines, substations, electrical infrastructure, and related works.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion within approved budgets and quality standards.
- Manage project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and site execution teams.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, government departments, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Review project schedules, work progress, manpower deployment, material requirements, and resource planning.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, billing, material consumption, and overall project profitability.
- Ensure timely execution of civil and electrical works as per approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Review project performance and take corrective actions to resolve delays, technical issues, and execution challenges.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct regular project reviews and submit MIS/progress reports to senior management.
- Manage project risks, contractual issues, client requirements, and change orders.
- Ensure effective coordination between Engineering, Procurement, Stores, Finance, Contracts, and Project Execution teams.
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency, and timely completion of project milestones.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in Power Distribution and EPC Project Execution.
- Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, substations, HT/LT lines, and related infrastructure.
- Strong leadership, project management, planning, and team-handling skills.
- Experience in managing large-scale government/DISCOM projects will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project costing, billing, contracts, procurement, and resource management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Power Distribution / Electrical EPC / Infrastructure Projects.
- Candidates with experience in DISCOM, RDSS, government power distribution, and turnkey EPC projects will be preferred.
- Should be willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
