Role:- Playwright Automation Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Playwright Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in software testing and test automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript, along with strong knowledge of web application testing, API testing, and CI/CD integration.
You will work closely with developers, product teams, and QA engineers to improve test coverage, identify defects early, and ensure reliable releases.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks using Playwright.

Develop automated test scripts using TypeScript/JavaScript for functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.

Automate testing of modern web applications across multiple browsers using Playwright.

Build reusable test components, fixtures, utilities, and page objects.

Perform API testing and automation using Playwright API capabilities and/or tools such as Postman.

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and automation scripts.

Execute automated test suites, analyze failures, troubleshoot issues, and report defects with clear supporting evidence.

Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.

Work closely with development teams to identify testability issues and improve overall product quality.

Maintain test data and support testing across development, QA, staging, and production-like environments.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, defect triage, and release activities.

Continuously improve automation coverage, execution speed, stability, and maintainability.
Required Skills & Experience

3–5 years of experience in software testing, with strong hands-on experience in test automation.

Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.

Strong programming skills in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.

Experience designing or contributing to automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM) or similar patterns.

Good understanding of DOM, HTML, CSS, XPath, and browser-based application testing.

Experience with API testing, REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP methods/status codes.

Experience with cross-browser and end-to-end testing.

Hands-on experience with Git and source-control workflows.

Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Strong understanding of testing concepts, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.

Experience with defect tracking and Agile tools such as Jira or equivalent.

Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills

Experience with Playwright Test Runner, fixtures, hooks, assertions, tracing, screenshots, videos, and reporting.

Experience with parallel execution and optimizing automation suites for faster execution.

Knowledge of database validation and SQL.

Experience testing applications built using React, Angular, or similar modern web frameworks.

Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

Experience with test reporting solutions such as Allure or equivalent.

Understanding of accessibility, performance, and security testing concepts is an advantage.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional Agile teams.
