Role Summary:
The Proposal and Engagement Strategy Specialist will be responsible for managing the proposal-to-engagement process across the firm’s practice areas, including startups, mergers and acquisitions, disputes, redevelopment, real estate, insolvency, and corporate advisory.
The purpose of this role is to bring consistency, commercial clarity, stronger presentation, and better fee positioning in all proposals, quotations, scope notes, and engagement documents.
The person in this role will work closely with partners, attorneys, coordinators, and management to convert legal and commercial discussions into persuasive, well-structured, and client-ready documents. This is a specialist role that combines proposal strategy, drafting, pricing discipline, coordination, technology usage, and closure support. Role Objective: To build a consistent, high-quality, and scalable proposal system that improves fee justification, client confidence, and conversion from lead stage to signed engagement.
Key Result Areas:
● Proposal Development: Prepare accurate, well-structured, and commercially sound proposals across practice areas.
● Fee Positioning: Present management-approved pricing with clear and credible value justification.
● Proposal Ownership: Manage the proposal journey from draft stage to closure, including revisions, follow-up, and finalisation.
● Internal Coordination: Work with partners, attorneys, and coordinators to gather inputs and ensure timely completion.
● Process Support: Help map and improve the journey from lead generation to signed engagement.
● Technology Use: Use AI tools and digital platforms to improve proposal quality, speed, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
● Draft proposals, quotations, scope notes, fee notes, and capability documents.
● Customise proposals based on sector, client profile, and complexity of mandate.
● Understand the firm’s pricing logic, cost metrics, and fee expectations.
● Present team strengths, credentials, experience, and relevant success stories in a credible format.
● Attend internal and external virtual meetings, wherever required.
● Maintain proposal templates, pricing references, and proposal libraries.
● Coordinate revisions, follow-ups, and tracking with attorneys and coordinators.
● Support negotiation stages through stronger structuring, wording, and fee explanation.
● Improve proposal systems using feedback, AI tools, and management inputs.
Required Skills:
● Strong drafting and business writing skills
● Good commercial understanding of scope and fee positioning
● High attention to detail, structure, and formatting
● Strong coordination and follow-up ability
● Comfort with virtual meetings and requirement gathering
● Working knowledge of AI tools and presentation platforms
● Ability to handle multiple proposals without loss of quality
● Sound judgment while dealing with confidential pricing matters
Experience Required:
● 3 to 5years of experience in proposal creation, bid management, engagement support, or commercial documentation
● Preference for candidates from law firms, consulting, financial advisory, real estate advisory, or other professional services environments
● Experience in handling detailed proposals and multi-stakeholder coordination will be preferred
● Familiarity with legal, transaction, dispute, or real estate sectors will be an advantage Preferred Background:

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should be a strong writer with commercial maturity, process discipline, and a clear ownership mindset. The person should be comfortable working with senior professionals, understanding pricing logic, improving proposals through multiple rounds, and supporting conversion until closure.
This role is important because a proposal is often the first serious business case made by the firm to a client. Stronger proposals will directly improve branding, consistency, fee presentation, and closure quality.
