Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to manage the school library and promote a culture of reading and research among students and staff. The candidate must have prior experience working in a school library and hands-on knowledge of the KOHA Library Management System.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.Sc.).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a school library.
- Mandatory experience with KOHA Library Management Software.
- Good command of English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with students, teachers, and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
- Maintain and update library records using the KOHA Library Management System.
- Issue, return, renew, and catalogue books and other library resources.
- Classify and organize books, journals, and reference materials.
- Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing library resources.
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory and circulation.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and prepare library reports.
- Coordinate with academic departments regarding book requirements and procurement.
- Ensure proper maintenance and discipline within the library premises.
- Promote reading habits through library activities, book displays, and reading programs.
- Manage digital resources and maintain library databases.
- Ensure proper preservation and upkeep of library materials.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of cataloguing and classification systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Familiarity with digital library resources and e-learning platforms.
Experience Required: 2–5 Years (School Library Experience Mandatory)
Software Requirement: KOHA Library Management System (Mandatory)
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
