Job Description for Finance Controller
We are looking for an experienced, analytical, and detail-oriented Finance Controller to join our team at our Faridabad-based Hotel & Banquet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete finance and accounts function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, statutory compliance, and financial controls across hotel and banquet operations.
As a Finance Controller, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, optimizing costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting strategic business decisions, and maintaining the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete Finance & Accounts operations of the hotel and banquet.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, MIS reports, and management reports.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans.
- Monitor daily revenue from hotel rooms, banquet events, restaurants, and other business operations.
- Review banquet quotations, event billing, advance collections, final settlements, and revenue recognition.
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization to ensure smooth business operations.
- Prepare profitability reports, variance analysis, and financial performance reports for management.
- Monitor food & beverage costs, banquet costs, payroll expenses, and operational expenditures.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory regulations.
- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and financial inspections.
- Review vendor payments, customer collections, banking transactions, and payment approvals.
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls, accounting policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with Sales, Banquet Operations, Front Office, Procurement, HR, and other departments for financial planning and reporting.
- Supervise inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, and procurement-related financial controls.
- Monitor departmental budgets and recommend cost-saving initiatives without affecting service quality.
- Prepare financial dashboards and management presentations to support business decisions.
- Manage banking relationships, loan documentation, and working capital requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the Finance & Accounts team while ensuring timely completion of all financial activities.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial records, company data, and commercial information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CA, CMA, MBA (Finance), or M.Com will be preferred.
- 7–12 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in the hospitality, hotel, banquet, or service industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in hotel accounting, banquet billing, food & beverage costing, and hospitality finance operations.
- Hands-on experience in GST, TDS, Income Tax, payroll accounting, audits, and financial compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime, Busy, SAP, IDS, Oracle Hospitality, or similar accounting/ERP software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare MIS reports, financial dashboards, and management presentations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial planning skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet reporting deadlines.
Preferred Candidate
- Prior experience in hotels, banquet venues, resorts, or hospitality organizations.
- Strong understanding of hospitality KPIs, banquet profitability, room revenue, food & beverage cost control, and operational finance.
- Experience in implementing financial controls, cost optimization initiatives, and process improvements.
- Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Faridabad or nearby locations will be preferred.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
